“The North America Championship is action-packed poker for 10 days,” said Sandy Swartzbaugh, Commissioner for the PPC. “If you haven’t been to Silks Poker Room, it’s a must stop for any poker player. We look forward to sending over 15 players from Silks to our 2016 PPC Aruba World Championship in November.”
The nine-event series at Silks features a $600 buy-in and a $100,000 guarantee Main Event. The $600 buy-in Main Event runs from Friday, July 22 through Sunday, July 24. Players can buy into any of the four Day 1 flights, which will be held at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, then carry their largest stack into Day 2.
The fields combine on Sunday to crown a champion and award multiple Aruba packages.
“All the players and staff here at Silks Poker Room are gearing up for another great PPC series,” said Patrick Murphy, Director of Poker Operations. “The PPC Tour is always a welcome addition to a great summer of poker here in Tampa Bay.”
To help players plan their 2016 PPC Aruba World Championship “poker-cation,” 20 percent of the PPC North America Championship prize pool will go toward entries into the 2016 PPC Aruba World Championship. The 2015 PPC Aruba World Championship $1,700 Main Event drew 274 entries generating a $398,670 prize pool; this year’s event features a $2,400 buy-in, $500,000 guarantee.
The PPC Aruba World Championship, to be held in October at the Hilton Aruba Resort, is the premier stop on the PPC Poker Tour. The 2015 PPC Aruba Main Event Champion, Vincent Fiorenza, took down the title in November, winning $106,047 and a $5,000 PPC Aruba package.
Aristoteles Neto turned a $65 satellite at Foxwoods into $62,764 to become the 2014 PPC Aruba Champion. Robin Kazemieh of Germany won the 2013 Main Event title, taking home $59,139, while 2012 WPT Player of the Year Joe “Floes” Serock won the 2012 PPC Aruba title and finished third in 2013.
