Main Track
The Main Track is a one mile oval made up of sand and loam composition and is rated one of the best surfaces in the nation for both training and racing. The surface is equal to none in terms of drainage and cushion. The Track is 75’ wide and the length of the stretch is 976’. The track supports two chutes for seven furlong races and three-eighths events. Starting Gate Schooling is available on race days between 7:30 am and 10:00 am. Training hours are 6:00 am through 10:00 am unless otherwise noted (Closed for harrowing between 8:30 am and 9:00 am).
Turf Course
The Turf Course was completed in 1998 and is seven-eighths of a mile in circumference with an additional quarter mile chute. The width of the Turf Course is 80’ and is a Tifton #419 Bermuda Turf and supports rails settings of 0’, 12’, 22’ and 30'.
Paddock and Walking Arena
Located adjacent to the grandstand on the north end of the facility, the Paddock consists of a 14-stall covered saddling area that abuts the wood chip walking ring where the field of horses are united with their jockeys and paraded prior to each race. Once the field has circled the walking ring they proceed onto the track for the Post Parade and pre-race warm-up.
Backstretch
The Backstretch houses up to 1460 horses in 31 barns, 2 of which are receiving Barns. The Backside Kitchen and Racing Office complex is located on the south end of the backstretch along with the Chaplain's Office, soccer/baseball fields and Veterinarians Offices. Adjacent to the entrance and exit chutes to the track are the HBPA Office, the main shower and restroom facilities, a tack shop and basketball court. A feed and tack store is located to the east side of the barn area as well as multiple paddocks available to trainers for seasonal rental.
Seating and Parking
The Grandstand seats 4,300 and the Clubhouse seats 1,700. There are also many casual options available trackside, including the Picnic Pavilion Area, which seats 500, banquet style; Grandstand apron benches; and picnic table seating. On the Clubhouse Apron, bench seating is also offered; as is the Trackside Garden Suite— a fully contained private area that seats a party of 65 comfortably.
There is parking for approximately 5,000 cars on the property.
