JUNE SLATE OF MONDAY, WEDNESDAY RACING UNDERWAY

by Mike Henry
Beginning June 1, 10 days of racing are scheduled through the June 30-July 1 Summer Festival of Racing. Spectators are not allowed.

Monday's eight-race card kicked off a June schedule that will see Tampa Bay Downs conduct Thoroughbred racing each Monday and Wednesday over the next four weeks. Spectators are not allowed due to concerns surrounding the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

Tampa Bay Downs added the additional June dates to its 2019-2020 calendar after approval from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

Following the Wednesday, June 24 card, Tampa Bay Downs will begin preparations for its annual two-day Summer Festival of Racing on June 30 and July 1. The Tuesday, June 30 card marks the conclusion of the 2019-2020 meeting, with the July 1 program beginning the 2020-2021 meeting, which is then expected to continue in late November.

The Silks Poker Room remains closed until further notice. The Downs Golf Practice Facility is open for business.

Fans can continue to wager on the Tampa Bay Downs races through online betting sites such as NYRA Bets, DRF Bets and TVG.
