Dr. Dan Frazier is a family practitioner, and also operates an independent practice association of 800 physicians in the Tampa area. Frazier attended undergraduate and medical school at the University of Louisville, and began his interest in horses at a young age when he begged his father for a pony.
 
It was his father who got him interested in racing. He grew up in Louisville where his dad took him to Miles Park and Churchill Downs. After a failed attempt to buy a horse with a group of fellow medical students, he claimed World Pennant at Tampa Bay Downs in 1975. Pyrite Stables’ best horses include: Anet, a homebred; Regal Joy, who was claimed from him, then went on to win a stakes. Also, Alice Ruth, who has produced three stakes winners for Frazier including two 1997 stakes winners that race for Frazier, in the name of his Pyrite Stable, Fervent Affair and Pyrite Dinner.
