Tampa Bay Downs rings in its 84th year of live racing excitement with a day of fun activities! Join us for our Opening Day Breakfast Buffet, an all-you-can-eat extravaganza held in the Picnic Pavillion Area. Meet and greet trainers, horsemen, and other Tampa Bay Downs personalities, enjoy a fantastic breakfast spread, and gain free admission to the afternoon's races! This year, Tampa Bay Downs will give away a free 2009-2010 Handicaping Guide with each paid admission to the breakfast buffet; the book contains inside information on handicapping and wagering on both the Tampa Bay Downs main track and the turf course. Tickets must be purchased ahead of time in the General Office located on the 2nd floor of the Grandstand for $6.95 per person.
The fun continues in the afternoon with a great race program highlighted by the $65,000 Lightning City Stakes, a five furlong turf dash for fillies and mares three years old and up.
