Tampa Bay Downs is pleased to announce the first running of Cotillion Festival Day, a day dedicated to two-year-old racing highlighted by the $65,000 Inaugural Stakes for two-year-old males and the $65,000 Sandpiper Stakes for two-year-old fillies. Held on December 29, 2007, the Inaugural Stakes and the Sandpiper Stakes are to be run at six furlongs on the main track. Cotillion Festival Day is the start of a succession of Festival race days that leads to the Grade III Tampa Bay Derby and the $200,000 Florida Oaks to be held on Festival Day, March 15, 2008; all races for three-year-olds will get progressively longer as the horses prepare to run Classic distances.
